Debit Card
Make purchases quickly and easily with the Mastercard® debit card from Cherokee State Bank. With a quick swipe or dip, you’ll be able to make the every day purchases you need. You can also use your debit card for online purchases, as well as at ATMs.
All Cherokee State Bank debit cards are equipped with Mastercard SecureCode for additional security.
Going on a trip? Call the bank to notify us in advance of your trip, especially if you’ll be traveling outside of the U.S. After all - we want you to have peace of mind while you’re basking on the beach or exploring a new city.
Lost or Stolen Debit Card
Did you lose your debit card or think it may have been stolen? If so, call (712) 225-3000 immediately during regular business hours. Outside normal business hours, please call (800) 383-8000 for assistance.
Notice of Blocked Countries for Debit Transactions
Due to regulatory requirements and incidents of fraudulent activity, Cherokee State Bank blocks certain debit card activity based on risk. From time to time, the list of blocked activity by country is updated based on current fraud trends and/or government sanctions. Currently, all transactions, point of sale (POS) signature based and POS when the card is not presented to the merchant are blocked from transacting in all countries excluding The United States and Canada. You can still make PIN-based transactions when traveling.

SHAZAM® Falcon
SHAZAM Falcon is a free security service offered to all Cherokee State Bank customers. Here’s how it works:
- This service monitors your debit card 24/7 for fraudulent activity to prevent unauthorized activity on your card.
- If fraud is suspected, you will receive a notification on your phone or a voice message if you are unavailable.
- A temporary block will be placed on your card if you do not reply.
- Shazam Falcon will never ask for your personal information such as Social Security Number or security codes, etc. Shazam will ask to verify your address and confirm your recent purchase activities.

Mastercard® SecureCode®
Add an extra layer of security to your online transactions with Mastercard SecureCode. Here’s how it works:
- You create a secret code known only to you and Cherokee State Bank
- Whenever you shop online at a participating merchant, you enter the code before each transaction is allowed to be completed
- This prevents criminals from being able to make purchases if they somehow get ahold of your debit card information
Since SecureCode works with your existing Mastercard account, the enrollment process is quick and easy.
